MySQL Mobile Database Client App Reviews

Running MySQL on Fedora Linux. Once I configured ssh, I had no problems connecting. Can easily update and maintain tables.

Im a very simple user, need to check information on the fly. Works very well for my needs. Im by no means a MySQL expert.

App is well-designed but there are bugs that are going unfixed. Still doesnt support tall screen of iPhone 5 which is more just a symbol that they havent updated in a while. It mis-analyzes db keys at times which prevents you from editing the data in certain types of tables. Connecting to db hangs sometimes when using SSH tunneling. Have to restart and try again. Really impressed. I never write reviews, but this app is cool.

Tis so far is a vs solid app and the best I have tried on the iPad and iPhone. Ssh is working just fine and I can even use it tunneling with iSSH or other source apps if I like. But a couple of features are lacking that I believe are important. 1. Resizing fields in result display, currently there does not appear to be a way to change this. So in my small db the 3 digit ID column takes the same space as the text blob column when displaying which is a major waste of limited screen space. Either auto sizing or manual drag sizing would solve this, especially when remembering by table name and database what your preferred sizes are. 2. Text query option for contains, which translates to like "%xxx%". Yes I know I can type this but such a shortcut would be very helpful for adhoc queries when moving from one query to another. Or a top filter field that can run a contains check on a given field would work as well. 3. A quick shortcut for selecting all columns in their natural db order again helps with quick ad hoc queries. Another product I use on the desktop (sequel pro) has several of these features and is very convenient. I do lots of ad hoc inquiries as a poor mans form database and this is a huge timesaver. What I was looking for in your program is a portable equivalent to this Mac only program and with these few additions you would be almost spot on with my goal, definitely worthy of a 5 instead of a 4.

If you use SSH tunneling, you will have to set "PasswordAuthentication" to "yes" in your sshd_config file. Works great!

I had used this app a while back and didnt have to wait, wait, wait for it to analyze keys for every table I viewed. Now, after a recent(?) update, that process takes 3 minutes or more, even on tables with only a few rows. The worst part is, it doesnt "remember" the analysis, so if I go view another table, then come back to the first one, I have to wait all over again.

The first couple of queries work well against a data source then the app will just sit and spin with no results. You have to exit and go back into the app and start all over again. Tried multiple MySQL version and servers same results.

Update: This app was great, but no updates for 2.5 years. No update for taller iPhone 5 screen. No iOS 7 update. A shame because it was a great app. Original review: So far, this is everything I was looking for in on-the-go data editing. Works great with my DreamHost database.

I also get those connection errors. I havent been able to connect enough, but what happen to search everything? If this feature is gone, I will have to find another client. Because of the ios7 interface, it is harder to distinguish data, I wish developers would not go all out with that, it makes it harder to see where to tap and what to tap.

Prior to this update I would have rated as 4 stars but the latest update is a mortal wound to the application rendering it unusable. Clearly support does not place this as a high priority so I will be looking for an alternative.

This app was nice when it worked but since the IOS7 version it no longer can connect to my db. Why am i putting this in a review instead of contacting their support? Because i went down that road before and was ignored. There is no support. And with so many others reporting the same problem its obvious they dont test their stuff. So keep in mind that buying this app is a crapshoot. If it doesnt work youre SOL.

I love that this app gives you a tabular view, then when you touch the record it gives you a full record view. You can also edit, add, and insert records, too. Ive recommended this to coworkers who use mysql since its so handy.

This really a useful app.

Simple clean interface. Works well.

So cant even install it. No reason that this should require the latest version of iOS.

In an extreme situation I could use this. However, its so slow. Almost quicker to just use iSSH and use MySQL through shell.

This app has been invaluable when I need info at anytime from the database.
